We harvested our first vegetable since the bumper crop of turnips that scared us back in 2009. Back then we learned that turnips will grow anywhere...and that we really, really don't like turnips. This year we planted strawberries, cucumbers, basil, tomatoes and potatoes. Today, we were thrilled to harvest a cucumber. Yep, just one prickly cucumber. We're optimistic , though, and a little garden challenged.
